It took me a long time to figure out the optimal settings for importing the HD video into Sony Vegas, and I had to do a lot of rendering, because I was getting weird lag and blurring of the image, but I eventually found the right options. I have figured out a new process for rendering the audio, so the sounds a hell of a lot better too. Just recently I also changed the strings on my guitar, as well as cleaned up the fretboard and applied some lemon oil, so the Ibanez is in good shape at the moment. Finally, I upgraded my version of Sony Vegas from 8 to 9, not that it makes much difference. This is my interpretation of ‘Asleep’ by The Smiths. Of course, the original is just piano and vocals, so it was quite a challenge to translate it to guitar and keep the base notes relatively intact. At the time of writing it’s the only guitar version I’ve ever heard of ‘Asleep’, so I’ve nothing to compare it to for accuaracy, but it sounds convincing enough. It’s not the complete instrumental, just an exerpt showing you how to play each section. It’s very nice to play, especially on an acoustic. There’s a part in it where you have to stretch across 5 frets, which can be tricky! Sorry, but you have to do this stretch because the low E is dropped to a D as that is the lowest bass note in the song. Today i got my Rhodes up and running again! It was in restoration for the last 3 months. One key needs some extra service, it sounds like the hammer touches the damper module or bridle strap. Then there are some small details to fix. I renewed all hammer tips, felt, two hammers, some pickups, tines and tolex. Adjusting the Guide pins for the action and tightening the keys. Then the (stretch) tuning and adjusting starts, just the way i like the sound the most. Deep and dynamic, warm and round, not to agressive (only when necessary) Maybe some little extra tuning and then it’s done. Enjoy this great Rhodes sound!

Hey sorry for the delay on this upload, this is a video from our performance at the Balcony Grill, where we played Luv (sic.) pt3 with Justin emceeing for Shing02’s verse, and I just have to comment that that is amazing multi-tasking, but he really wanted to learn the verse and perform this song so we ended up borrowing a mic and trying it out. We only practiced for about a day for this song but I think it came out pretty good. By the way, the gig was amazing and there were SO many people there who came out to support us and we really, really appreciate all of your support There were so many people that came out that the waitresses had to pull people off the floor to work the bar and they were complaining about how crowded it was lol, which I think is an awesome thing (though maybe not for them).
